The project seeks to transform the main entrance of Shell’s industrial site in Ghent into a more sustainable and welcoming gateway, reflecting the company’s commitment to improving the environmental quality of its facilities.

The proposal reorganises the entrance area around a car park with permeable paving and an integrated rainwater collection system, reducing surface runoff and promoting more responsible water management.

A landscaped strip of native planting in green and reddish tones creates a natural transition between the street and the industrial complex, while a green roof further integrates vegetation into the architecture.
